Sylvagen ordered a Smart Shear Pin system to be fitted to their virtually new CBI 5400B. Today we speak to Site Foreman, Christopher Lander.

Tell us about Sylvagen.

Chris: Sylvagen is a UK market leader within the renewable, recycling, and biomass fuel sectors. We offer a one-stop solution for the collection and processing of waste, as well as supplying manufacturers and energy facilities with valuable resources.

Why did you install the Smart Shear Pin system?

Chris: When the pins sheared, we didn’t know the basket was swinging loose. This caused downtime leading to a financial loss. We were also constantly checking the pins.

How was the process of fitting the system to your grinder?

Chris: The system was fitted by Anstee Indication Systems and was quick and smooth.

How have you found the Smart Shear Pin system so far?

Chris: Very helpful. It prevents breakdowns, and it saves us time and money.

What impresses you most about the Smart Shear Pin system?

Chris: When the shear pin breaks, it notifies us that pin is damaged.
